4 Week Old Puppies

The puppies are ready to start eating solid food already.  They are barking at me when I come into the room, and they all run to the side of the pen to see what I am doing - so cute!  Mom is starting to get tired of them, and wants to be out of the pen more and more.  Not long now before weaning begins!

Puppy Care Day

Today was Two Week Old Puppy Care Day.  Everyone got weighed, toes trimmed and wormed.  They all did great, and out of 162 toes, no bleeding!  No one liked the wormer, and they all had white lips from trying to spit it out!  They are doing great, growing fast.  Eyes are open now, and walking is beginning.  They are also beginning to bark (goes with their eyes opening, as they can now see shapes!).  It's so cute to hear them bark when they see shapes, and funny how they turn the wrong way, to see whatever it is!

2 week old Puppies

The puppies are getting so big.  They will be 2 weeks old tomorrow, and I can see peeks of their eyes as they open and many are starting to toddle around. Next week they will be running - so amazing how fast this all happens!  Puppy pickout is coming up soon!

It has been brought to my attention, (thanks Donna!) that there are no pictures of me, Beth, on The Family Doodle website.  That is true on the website, and in our family pictures, because I am usually the one with the camera.  But, my husband and I did stand still long enough for one of the kids to snap a picture of us on Christmas Eve.  So, here you go.  I'm the one on the right :)

The January litter has arrived!!

Our first litter of the New Year was born today.  Kind of a fun birthdate, 1-12-12!  Mom and pups are all doing great, and I am ready to take a nap!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!!  We just returned from a relaxing two week vacation in Florida, visiting Universal Studios on the way south, then on to Key West, and then Disney on the way home.  It was great that my husband was able to get enough time off from his job at the AF Base to enjoy it with us!  Christmas with the family was nice (we had one of our grown puppies - Monty - stay with us over the holiday), and we are looking forward to a great 2012.  My son Nate turns 19 on Dec. 29th - where did the time go?!!  Pretty soon it will be back to work - we have a litter of puppies coming in a couple of weeks.
